Our vision

Building on the success of Bredbury Industrial Estate

With more than 100 businesses occupying Bredbury Industrial Estate, the site is very close to full capacity. The estate is thriving and there is high demand from manufacturing, logistics and e-commerce businesses that want new purpose-built employment space delivered in Stockport as part of their plans for the future. There is a shortage of suitable and sustainable sites for future employment development in Stockport, which creates the risk that the Borough could lose opportunities for new job creation and investment to other areas in Greater Manchester. We have brought forward our proposals for Bredbury Gateway to positively address these issues.

 

Our vision for Bredbury Gateway is to build on the success of Bredbury Industrial Estate, strengthen this area as one of the premier employment hubs in Greater Manchester, and, vitally, to maximise the local community benefits of the scheme. We believe that Bredbury Gateway can play a key role in creating new jobs for Stockport and helping the Borough maintain its position as a leading business location in the North.
